New Logo!

So I’ve gone and created a new logo for my show (and my own ventures, as they are inherently linked). Along with this will be a light refresh of the website, still the same great content though. Let me know what you think, tweet @D_VO

And for good measure, here’s the rest of the alphabet. Let me know how it stacks up!

I went to crate some tracks for my show, and only got to J when I sorted by artist… so that gave me an idea, I’d put the first half of the alphabet against the second half of the alphabet on successive weeks. I figure this was a fun way to change things up a little bit. Anyways, here’s A-J!

I’ll be playing at Beat Chemistry, the new residency of Mixwell House, alongside theirs truly and TCB. This will be at the Bluelight Bar at Belmont and Western in Chicago, this Thursday the 18th, I’ll be jammin’ from 11pm to 1am, but the night goes all the way to 4am! No cover, which means no excuses for you. Until then, here’s a mix for you to jam on until Thursday.

It’s my special treat to bring to you a live in-studio set from a pair of very well respected DJ’s from opposite ends of the earth. Karl Almaria of course reppin’ the hometown of Chicago as always, but tonight we have with us none other than d-t3ch all the way from Melbourne Austrailia! These two have appeared on the show once before, and I still listen to that set at least once a month (despite Sangre’s yelling every half hour :p). I even managed to get in a solid interview around the 1hr50 mark, so check that out for some information and insight into d-t3ch’s production, shows, and what it means to be into house music.

I was inspired by some great deep house mixes I was jammin’ to over the weekend, went and got a bunch of new tunes and threw down this neat little set. Lower energy, but a great moody mix. TUNE IN NEXT WEEK. D-T3CH WILL BE BACK IN THE STUDIO!

Welcome back, new week, new mix as usual… The energy level was up and down, and back up and then down a bit, I think there’s a flow to this one though. I’m quickly becoming a fan of Ross Couch (if you haven’t been able to tell that already). Anyway, this is a pretty solid hour and a half of music, happy listening!

Lots of people have been asking for this one this week and I have gotten nothing but positive feedback on it. I’m not a betting man (heh) but if I was (also heh) I’d wager that this is the best of the year from me. People who know me know that I rag on myself (perhaps unjustifiably so) all the time about my live set quality, and I give it my stamp of approval. I’m putting it on Soundcloud because that’s what people seem to like to comment on and share things with these days.

So I had a tough, long weekend of partying, so I was not in the mood for jackin’ house, or even deep house for that matter… So I grabbed some of my trip hop, downtempo, and eclectic cuts, and went on a journey that started around 92bpm and ended near 120. I need more of this in my life.

What a fun birthday present, at noon that day I got a call saying Uriah West was in town and would I be interested in having him on the show… so of course I said yes! The tracklisting is mostly there, but there were some white labels and unlabeled stuff and whatnot. Bangin’ set! Go get it.
