What’s up house heads! This week I was following James Curd of the Greenskeepers which was a real treat. I decided to keep it a little deeper and techier than usual with a set focused on the 125bpm range. I really liked the result, except for the bit towards the end where I pulled the wrong needle off the record (hey it’s a live show, ok!) But if you want something a little more chill and jazzy, I got you covered. Also, tune in on the 12th when I will have a special mix from Sista Stroke of BrickCityHouse and ChicagoHouseFM fame. Greetings house heads and music lovers! The week of WMC is upon us, and with it comes promos, DJ sets, flyers, hype, and all of the booze induced networking. I was lucky enough to be put in contact (Thanks Andrew!) with none other than Gene Farris  (Farris Wheel, Om, Soma) who sent in some outstanding mixes to play. That’s right, there are TWO of them… The theme was duality, one is titled LOVE The other: HATE. I would say both of them are comprised of tracks you would hear me play depending on my mood that evening, so I was glad to play some fresh tunes that fit the theme of the show.

Gene has some upcoming record releases coming out on Farris Wheel Recordings, and he is playing along side Mark Farina, Colette, Heather, Stacey Pullen, Chuck Love, Diz, and JDub at the Farris Wheel/BoomBoomRoom Miami Sessions party at the world famous Hed Kandi Lounge this Saturday March 27th. e-mail rsvp@boomboomroomchicago.com for more info on that. What up party people. Random house tracks in this set…  I’m not even gonna classify them due to a discussion I had with Ken ECB on his facebook wall earlier in the day. The highlights are absolutely the Whitney Houston remix, the new Chris Robson, and of course the Hodges re-do of Jack It Like A Zombie. (been trying to find a set to stick that in, had it for a few weeks now)

This Sunday, I’m doin the brunchlox! I’ll be alongside Roshan, Remedy, and Karl Almaria from noon to 4pm spinning some dope tunes, eating amazing food, and generally chillin getting rid of what is sure to be a post-Saturday night hangover. I’m back in action for another groovy set this week, this one does not disappoint. With some pre-show prep and some clever mixer/looping usage I kept the energy up through this deep house mix. The track selection here was some of my better work, expect this show, or parts of it anyways, to transform into a promo mix in the next week or so. In other news, I’ll be playing an extra internet radio show this month. Karl Almaria has invited me to come play on the Sunday Brunchlox on myhouse-yourhouse.net! I’ll be playing alongside Karl and DJ Remedy from noon to 4 on Sunday the 21st of March. So last week you may remember we had the Chicago Jack Summit going on… we raised $1000 and we’re going to pick up a set of CDJ-1000′s for the studio. Big thanks to everyone who donated during the show, or just to WNUR’s Phoneathon in general. A large part of the reason we got to our goal was a result of the support of Frankie J (The Sound Republic), proprietor of Spatula City and Flapjack Records. Since he has been such a team player in the house community by supporting WNUR and just generally putting out AWESOME music on his labels, I decided it would be right to return the favor. Thus we arrive at this set, which was comprised entirely of tracks off of Spatula City and Flapjack. Use this set as a guide to the new sound of Chicago House… because now you know who’s pushing it.
