My Intro Tracks

So a couple people have emailed me asking what my intro track is over the course of this show, so I figured I would do a little report about it.

Over the summer of 2008, I started every show and did my talk-in bit to “Flutter” by Bonobo. I liked this track because it was happy but smooth, with a decent beat. Generally it made for a good background vibe and had nice fade in fade out sections that I could work with.

Then in the fall, I switched it up to a track called “Conflict Resolution” by Joey Youngman, off the Chillout Session OM Records put out in 2008. I liked this because I felt it was a good mix of a hip hop beat and a relaxed deep house atmosphere. I still toss this on once in a while if I have people over and want to match the mood.

This is the new track that will open the show for Winter 2009, it’s called “Off Kilter” by Tipper. It’s a lot different than the other two, way dirtier and grungier, but keeps that hip-hop meets some kind of house music feel on it. I may find myself cue-ing and dropping the track at about 20 seconds just to have a harder intro, but we’ll see.

You’ll always have a hot intro track to look forward to playing underneath my dumb ass talking in on the show, guaranteed. If you have any suggestions for a new intro track, I’d love to check it out!

Cheers,

D-VO
